4/365: coffee is my drug of choice.

Girl talk over coffee instead of booze is the wiser choice when the friend in need has a recently broken heart. Things learned tonight: 1) the Richmond district is always several degrees cooler than SoMa. 2) ALWAYS CARRY A SCARF. 3) I crave ice cream when it's cold.

3/365: tourist trap

The Ferry Building Plaza, one of my favorite local haunts, that is, when it's not swarmed by slow moving tourists and photo-mongers. Thursdays are my favorite days to go because of the ever so popular Farmer's Market that not only offers fresh, organic fruits and veggies, but delicious bites from prestigious local restaurants sold via street food style. Of course we missed out and opted for tapas at Market Bar instead. (pictured on bottom right corner: my two best friends.)

2/365: the perennially tardy muni lightrail system

If you have ever taken public transportation in San Francisco, you understand. This needs no explanation.

1/365: the best souvenirs are the edible ones

While traveling Canada last year, I became obsessed with maple nougat candy after buying a pack on a whim. So when my friend Mark was planning his trip to visit his girlfriend in Montreal, I absolutely had to request a pack. I even googled a photo of the sweet little morsels for him to ensure the right selection. After all, it HAD to be the right brand. But I didn't want to break his heart. The day before he fly back into town with my delicious little package I found maple nougat.... at Costco.

But still, finding this on a Tuesday morning in my cubby at work absolutely made my day.
